73. demand  to ask for sth very firmly.

[v that] The UN has demanded that all troops be withdrawn.

74. demonstrate  to show sth clearly by giving proof or evidence.

[v that] These results demonstrate convincingly that our campaign is working.        

[vn that] It has been demonstrated that this drug is effective.

75. denote    (formal) to be a sign of sth.

[v that] The cross denoted that the mission of Jesus had failed.

76. deny  to say that sth is not true.

[v (that) ] She denied (that) there had been any cover-up.

77. desire  (formal) to want sth; to wish for sth.
