5.3 連詞that引導(dǎo)賓語(yǔ)從句 眾所周知,that從句可以作賓語(yǔ),即連詞that可以引導(dǎo)賓語(yǔ)從句,但是哪些動(dòng)詞(或短語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞) 之后可以接that從句卻是個(gè)難以回答的問(wèn)題,因?yàn)楹蠼?/FONT>that從句的動(dòng)詞(或短語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞) 沒(méi)有規(guī)律性,一般詞典或語(yǔ)法書(shū)雖然提及卻又語(yǔ)焉不詳——僅給出例句,而沒(méi)有說(shuō)明在什么情況下可以接that從句,本文不僅像一般語(yǔ)法書(shū)那樣注明漢語(yǔ)意思,而且注明英語(yǔ)釋義,這樣才不會(huì)給讀者造成誤會(huì),因?yàn)橛械膭?dòng)詞可以構(gòu)成不同的句型,而此時(shí)它們的意思卻大相徑庭。例如在中學(xué)英語(yǔ)教學(xué)中流傳著這樣一個(gè)“美麗的錯(cuò)誤”: 英語(yǔ)輔導(dǎo)社之《英語(yǔ)考試向?qū)А?/FONT>1997年第2期p7:I heard she was singing in English.→I heard her singing in English. 英語(yǔ)輔導(dǎo)社之《考試與評(píng)價(jià)》英語(yǔ)新目標(biāo)九年級(jí)版2008年第4期P32: I heard that some children sang some songs.(改為簡(jiǎn)單句) →I heard some children sing some songs. 很多人都認(rèn)為hear后接 that從句可以轉(zhuǎn)化為hear+賓語(yǔ)+不帶to不定式(v-ing形式) ,之所以會(huì)出現(xiàn)這樣的錯(cuò)誤是因?yàn)樗麄儚囊话愕脑~典和語(yǔ)法書(shū)獲悉:hear后接 that從句時(shí),意為“聽(tīng)說(shuō)”; hear后接賓語(yǔ)+不帶to不定式(v-ing形式) 時(shí),意為“聽(tīng)見(jiàn)、聽(tīng)到”,單從漢語(yǔ)意思看,兩者相差不大。豈不知這兩個(gè)句型中hear的意思在英語(yǔ)完全不同:《牛津高階英語(yǔ)詞典》(第7版) (商務(wù)印書(shū)館 hear后接 that從句時(shí),意為to be aware of sounds with your ears. hear后接賓語(yǔ)+不帶to不定式(v-ing形式) 時(shí),意為to be told about sth.由此可見(jiàn)標(biāo)注英語(yǔ)釋義的重要性和必要性。 根據(jù)John Sinclair主編的COLLINS COBUILD GRAMMAR PATTERNS1:VERBS (上海外語(yǔ)教育出版社 2000年11月第1版) p103: Some verbs can have should or a subjunctive in the that-clause.
