5.2.1.2  “It+v-link+形容詞+for+名詞+ that從句

1. THE “FORTUNATE” GROUP 

These adjectives indicate that something is beneficial or not beneficial to someone or something.

(1) fortunate 幸運(yùn)的

It is fortunate for us that we live in this great age.

(2) good  合適的;方便的

I think it’s good for Giuliani that he realized that not every place outside of New York City is a burrough of the city.

(3) lucky 好運(yùn)帶來的

It is lucky for Newt Gingrich that Dick Williams is not his lawyer. It is lucky for the community of family values that Williams is not a lawyer, because his defense logic is: Newt made a few mistakes but Bill Clinton is the real criminal.

(4) sad 糟糕的;不能令人接受的

It was sad for me that I had fallen in love with someone who did not love me, but it was not an experience I cared to repeat -- for more and better reasons than the fear of pain.

(5) unfortunate 可嘆的;令人遺憾的

It is unfortunate for you that you brazenly appear at all.

(6) unlucky 倒霉的

It was unlucky for Stephen that the boss happened to walk in just at that moment.
