He often goes out with her. 他經(jīng)常同她一起出去。

The boys have often been there. 孩子們經(jīng)常去那兒。

有時為了強(qiáng)調(diào)，也可放在特殊動詞之前，甚至句首或句末。如：

He was often ill. /He often was ill. 他經(jīng)常生病。

He often writes to me. /He writes to me often. 他經(jīng)常給我寫信。

若受副詞修飾(加強(qiáng)語氣或強(qiáng)調(diào))，也通常位于句末或句首。如：

We go to the cinema quite [very] often. / Very [Quite]

often we go to the cinema. 我們經(jīng)常去看電影。

2. 用于 as often as, 起連詞作用，相當(dāng)于whenever, 意為“每當(dāng)”。如：

As often as I tried to ring him, the line was engaged. 每次我給他打電話都占線。

◆once adv. & conj.

1. 用作副詞，表示“一次”，是頻度狀語，通常放在句末；表示“曾經(jīng)”、“一度”，是表示不確定時間的副詞，通常放在行為動詞之前，特殊動詞(助動詞、情態(tài)動詞、動詞 be)之后，有時也可放在句首。如：

I’ll help you once but then you must do it by yourself. 我只幫你一次，但以后你就得自己做了。

This novel was once very popular but nobody reads it today. 這本小說曾經(jīng)很受歡迎，但現(xiàn)在沒有人讀了。

注：表示“一次”的 once 還經(jīng)常與 a, every 等連用。如：

We have a meeting once a week. 我們每周開會一次。

He goes home once every six months. 他每半年回家一次。

2. 用作連詞，引導(dǎo)時間狀語從句，注意從句要用現(xiàn)在時表示將來意義。如：

Once you begin, you must continue. 你一旦開始，就必須進(jìn)行下去。

Once you talk to him, you’ll know he’s a good person. 你只要同他談?wù)劊�你就會知道他是個好人。

所引導(dǎo)從句的主語若與主句主語一致，有時也可用其省略結(jié)構(gòu)，被省略部分通常(并不總是)包括有動詞 be。如：

Once (it is) printed, the book will be very popular. 一旦出版，這本書會大受歡迎。

Once having made a promise, you should keep it. 你一旦許下諾言，就該遵守。

3. 比較 at once 與 all at once: 前者表示“馬上”或“同時”；后者表示“突然”。如：

Come here at once. 馬上過來。

Don’t all speak at once. 不要一起說。

All at once we heard a loud noise. 突然我們聽到一聲巨響。
