1. 用作連詞，表示“雖然”，兩者大致同義，可換用，只是 although 比 though 更為正式。如：
Though [Although] it was raining，we went there. 雖然下著雨，但我們還是去了那兒。
2. although 一般不用作副詞，而 though 可用作副詞，且一般放在句末(不放在句首)，意為“可是”、“不過”。如：
It’s hard work; I enjoy it though. 工作很辛苦，可是我樂意干。
這樣用的 though 有時可與 however 換用。如：
We all tried our best. We lost the game, though [however]. 我們都已盡了最大的力量，但我們還是輸了。
3. 在 as though(好像，仿佛), even though(即使，縱然) 等固定短語中不能用 although。如：
He talks as though he knew anything. 他夸夸其談好像無所不知。
4. though 引導的讓步狀語從句可用部分倒裝的形式(注意：倒裝后位于句首的名詞之前不用冠詞)，但 although 一般不這樣用。如：
Poor though I am, I can afford it. 我雖窮，但這東西還是買得起的。
Child though he was, he did quite well. 他雖是孩子，但干得很好。
among & between
1. among 一般用于三者或三者以上的“在……中間”，其賓語通常是一個表示籠統數量或具有復數(或集合)意義的名詞或代詞。如：
They hid themselves among the trees. 他們躲在樹林中。
I found it among a pile of old books. 我在一堆舊書中找到了它。
注：among 還用于下列情況：
(1) 用來引出最高級的比較范圍。如：
The book is the best among the modern novels. 在現代小說中這本是最好的。
(2) 表示“是……當中的一個”(相當于 one of)。如：
I was among the first to come. 我是來得最早的一個。
2. between 一般指兩者之間，其賓語往往是表示兩者的名詞或代詞，或者是由 and 連接的兩個人或物。如：
There was a fight between the two boys. 這兩個孩子打過一次架。
The baby crawled between his father’s legs. 嬰兒在他父親的雙腿中間爬。
I’m usually free between Tuesday and Thursday. 我通常在星期二與星期四之間有空。
注：在下列情況，between 可用于三者：
(1) 兩個以上的人或物用 and 連接時。如：
between A, B and C 在 A、B、C 之間
(2) 涉及事物之間的區別或各國之間的關系時。如：
the difference between the three of them 他們三者之間的區別
the relations between various countries 各國之間的關系
(3) 表示“由于……合作的結果”時。如：
Between them they landed the fish. 他們協力把魚拖上了岸。
(4) 在 divide, share 等表示“分享”之類的動詞之后，若接一個表示三者或三者以上的復數名詞時，用 among 和 between 均可。如：
He divided his money among [between] his five sons. 他把錢分給了 5 個兒子。
