■what if 表建議的時候，和what about 意思大致相同，兩者的區別，正如您所說，what if后接句子，what about 后接名詞或動名詞。另外，what if…后的if從句可用不同人稱作主語，如：
What if your mother stays there?
What if the girls come in first?
而 what about…所談論的情況通常隱含“你”“我”“你和我”這樣的主語。如：
What about a cup of tea?
