6. come 有時可以表示參加到對方的活動之中去(即使這種運動方向本身要求用 go)。如：

A：Will you come to see me tonight? 今晚來看我好嗎?

B：Yes, I’ll come. 好，我來。

A：Please come at once. Dinner is ready. 晚餐準備好了，請快來。

　B：OK, I’m coming. 好，我就來，(若用 Oh, I’m going. 對方可 能會理解為“噢，我要出去”)。

一般說來，在這種情況有以下三點需注意：

(1) 表示到聽話人(包括收信人)那兒去，通常用 come。如：

I’ll come to see you this Saturday. 我這周星期六來看你。

(2) 邀請對方一起去某地，可用 come 或 go。一般說來，用 come含有一種自己決定要去的意味，而用 go 則含有一種請求和商量的意味。如：

Would you like to come [go] with us? 你和我們一起去好嗎?

(3) 表示“我同你一起去”這樣的意義時，可用 come 或 go。如：

I will come [go] with you. 我和你一起去。

◆comfort n. & v.

1. 用作名詞，表示抽象意義的“安慰”，是不可數名詞（通常與動詞 get, find, take, seek, bring, offer 等連用)； 表示具體的給人以安慰的人或東西，是可數名詞(多用作表語)。如：

The news brought comfort to us all. 我消息給我們大家帶來了安慰。

Her children are a great comfort to her. 她的孩子是她極大的安慰。

同樣地，表示抽象意義的“舒適”，是不可數名詞；表示具體的使人舒適的東西，是可數名詞。如：

He lives in comfort. 他生活舒適。

The hotel has all modern comforts. 這家旅館有各種現代化的舒適設施。

2. 注意：形容詞 comfortable, 可以表示“舒適的”，但并不表示“安慰的”。如：

I do not feel comfortable here. 我在這兒感到不舒服。

◆command n. & v.

1. 用作動詞，表示“命令”，后接賓語從句通常用虛擬語氣。如：

He commanded that the soldiers should go to the front. 他命令士兵奔赴前線。

比較：He commanded the soldiers to go to the front.

2. 用作名詞，注意區別兩類易混結構：

(1) in command of 指揮……(帶有主動意味)

(2) in [at, under] the command of 由……指揮(帶有被動意味) General Smith is in command of the army. 史密斯將軍指揮這支軍隊。

The army is in [at, under] the command of General Smith. 這支軍隊由是史密斯將軍指揮。

◆company n.

1. 表示“客人”、“陪伴”、“交往”等，是不可數名詞。如：

Company is coming for dinner. 有客人要來吃飯。

I’m glad to have her company. 我很高興有她作伴。

He keeps [is in] good company. 他與好人交朋友。

A man is known by the company he keeps. 觀友見其人。

Please stay and keep me company for a while. 請留下陪我一會兒。

2. 表示“公司”，注意以下用法：

(1) 通常為可數名詞。如：

He is working for an insurance company. 他在一家保險公司工作。

(2) 用作主語時，其謂語可用單數(視為整體)或復數(視為個體)均可。如：

The company is expecting to expand its operations abroad.

/The company are expecting to expand their operations abroad. 該公司想擴大在國外的業務。

比較：

A company of travellers is [are] expected to arrive soon.

預計一批旅客很快就會到來。

(3) 有時表示公司名稱中未列出姓名的合伙人，此時是不可數名詞(可略為 Co. )。比如：Smith 與其合作者共同開辦的公司便可以叫做Smith & Co.，也可以叫 The Smith Company。

注：凡是帶有& [=and]的公司名，其前都不能用定冠詞；若沒有& ，則用不用定冠詞均可。另外，沒有姓氏的公司名中不能用& ：

正：(The) Smith Company 史密斯公司

誤：The Smith & Co.

正：The Cinema Company 電影公司

誤：The Cinema & Co.
