六、其他用零冠詞的場合
(1) 節(jié)假日、星期、月份、季節(jié)等通常用零冠詞：
We had a good time on Christmas Day. 我們在圣誕節(jié)過得很愉快。
Monday comes before Tuesday. 星期二在星期一之后。
He was born in September, 1988. 他出生在1988年9月。
【注】① 我國用 festival 構(gòu)成的傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日通常用定冠詞：the Spring Festival 春節(jié) / the Mid-autumn Festival [the Moon Festival] 中秋節(jié)
② 若表示特指或心目中的專指，星期、月份、季節(jié)等名詞前可用定冠詞：
He went abroad in the September of 1988. 他于1988年9月出國。
He came on the Sunday and went away on the Monday. 他星期日來，星期一就走了。
③ 表示“某一個(gè)”或受描繪性定語修飾表示“某種”這樣的意義時(shí)，節(jié)日、星期、月份、季節(jié)等名詞也可用不定冠詞：
My birthday happened to be on a Saturday. 我的生日碰巧是星期六。
She came round to see me on a sunny Sunday. 她在一晴朗的星期日來看了我。
We had a nice Christmas. 我們過了一個(gè)愉快的圣誕節(jié)。
④ 當(dāng)季節(jié)名詞不強(qiáng)調(diào)時(shí)間而強(qiáng)調(diào)季節(jié)的內(nèi)涵時(shí)，通常用 the：
Winter is coming. 冬天要來了。(單純指冬天的時(shí)間)
The winter is coming. 冬天要來了。(暗示寒冷)
(2) 某些表示自然界時(shí)間變化現(xiàn)象的名詞，與某些介詞(如at, after, before, till, until, towards, from 等)構(gòu)成短語時(shí)，通常用零冠詞：
at day-break 在天亮?xí)r before dawn 在天亮前
at dusk 在黃昏時(shí) after sunset 在日落后
after sunrise 在日出前 towards dark 天快黑時(shí)
at midnight 在半夜 from dawn till dusk 從早到晚
當(dāng) day, night, evening, morning, afternoon 等表示抽象的時(shí)間概念時(shí)，通常用零冠詞：
Night fell. 天黑了。
Evening came on. 夜幕來臨。
It was late afternoon before he reached home. 傍晚時(shí)候他才到家。
(3) 球類、三餐、茶點(diǎn)等名詞前，通常用零冠詞：
We play basketball in the afternoon. 我們下午打籃球。
What do you have for breakfast? 你早餐吃什么?
They were at tea when I called. 我來訪時(shí)他們正在喝茶(吃茶點(diǎn))。
【注】① 球類名詞若不是作為一項(xiàng)體育活動(dòng)看待，而是作為一個(gè)實(shí)實(shí)在在的東西來看待，則可以用冠詞：
The basketball is mine. 這個(gè)籃球是我的。
He bought a basketball. 他買了一個(gè)籃球。
② 三餐飯被特指可用定冠詞，若受形容詞修飾且非特指，可用不定冠詞：
The supper she cooked was delicious. 她做的晚餐很可口。
We had a good lunch at Uncle’s. 我們在叔叔家吃了頓豐盛的午餐。
