考點8  考查比較級的修飾語

形容詞和副詞的原級、比較級和最高級各自有其特定的修飾語，同學們在使用時不可亂用。

1. 修飾原級的詞語通常有：very, quite, rather, too, pretty, how, so等；

2. 修飾比較級的詞語通常有：even, much, still, rather, (by) far, not any, a lot, a little, a bit, twice, three times 等；

注意：quite 一般不用來修飾比較級，但有一個特例，即quite better (指身體情況)。

3. 修飾最高級的詞語通常有：(by) far, much, nearly, almost, quite, by no means 以及the very, the second, the next等。

【考例1】—All of us are proud of the progress he’s made during the past few years.

—Yes, we’re sure he will be even ________. (湖北宜昌中考題)

A. successful                                      B. more successful

C. most successful                            D. successfully

【分析】答案選B。even表示“更”“還”“甚至”時，只用于修飾比較級，故答案應選B。又如：You know even less about it than I do. 你對此事知道得比我還少。

【考例2】—Are you feeling better today, dear?

—No, even ________. (福建漳州中考題)

A. well                   B. better                 C. bad                    D. worse

【分析】答案選D。even表示“更”“還”“甚至”時，只用于修飾比較級，故可排除A和C；再根據句中的no可知，說話者的感覺不是變得“更好”，而是變得“變糟”。

考點9  考查特定搭配中的比較等級

有關比較等級的特定搭配比較多，下面為同學們歸納幾條比較重要而且經常被考到的結構和用法（這些用法雖然從語法角度并不絕對，但對于應付考試有時非常有效）：

1. 若句子中有了表示比較的than，那么句子中就必須要出現比較級，做題時要特別留意這一點。如：

He runs faster than all the other boys. 他跑得比其他男孩子都快。

You play the piano better than your sister. 你的鋼琴比你姐姐彈得好。

He moves more slowly than his sister (does). 他行動起來比他妹妹慢。

2. 若前面出現了one of…之類的搭配，那么緊跟在其后的形容詞十之八九會是用最高級。如：

He is one of the nicest people I know. 他是我認識的最好的人之一。

It’s one of the nicest parks in the country. 這是這個國家最美的公園之一。

It was one of the most interesting discoveries. 這是這些發現中最有意思的一個。

3. 若一個名詞后跟有I’ve ever seen之類的定語，那么它前面的形容詞也十之八九會是用最高級。如：

That’s the best film I have ever seen. 這是我看過的最好的電影。

This is the worst book I have ever read. 這是我讀過的最糟的書。

He is the kindest man that I have ever met. 他是我遇到過的最仁厚的人。

4. “the+比較級，the+比較級”（越……就越……）是英語中的一類很有用的句式，若考題涉及這類句式，要注意選比較。如：

The more, the better. (www.52ysedu.com)  越多越好。

The younger you are, the easier it is to learn. 年紀越輕，學習越容易。

The warmer the weather is, the better I feel. 天氣越暖和我感覺越舒服。
