“the+形容詞”表單數(shù)還是復(fù)數(shù)

有的形容詞(包括某些由分詞轉(zhuǎn)化來(lái)的形容詞)可在其前加上定冠詞表示一類(lèi)人或事物。如：

這類(lèi)用法往往具有復(fù)數(shù)意義。如：

The rich are not always happier than the poor. 富人并不總是比窮人過(guò)得開(kāi)心。

但若表示抽象意義，則被視為單數(shù)。如：

The beautiful is not always the same as the good. 美的東西不一定都是好的東西。
