說(shuō)明:由于“他們出售的那種新的粗塑料繩”也是“你能買到的”塑料繩之一,所以為了避免邏輯混亂,應(yīng)在 any 后加上 other。又如:He swims faster than any other student in his class. 他比班上的其他任何學(xué)生都游得快。Swallows fly faster than any other bird. 燕子飛得比其他鳥(niǎo)要快。
句意:他們出售的那種新的粗塑料繩比你能買到的都結(jié)實(shí)。
誤用:The more I thought about it, the more I became confused.
改為:The more I thought about it, the more confused I became.
說(shuō)明:由于 the more 是修飾 confused 的,所以應(yīng)將 the more 直接置于 confused 之前。類似地:The more things a man is ashamed of the more respectable he is. 一個(gè)人引以為恥的事情越多,就越可尊敬。The more learned a man is, the more modest he usually is. 越是有學(xué)問(wèn)的人,通常越謙虛。
