兩者通常可以換用。若要細分，可作如下區(qū)分：
1. 表示撞到硬物時，兩者均可用，但以 bump against 為多見。如：
In the dark I bumped into a chair. 我在黑暗中碰到了椅子。
The car bumped against the kerb. 汽車撞上了路邊石。
2. 表示撞到非硬物時，兩者均可用，但以 bump into為多見。如：
He ran round the corner and bumped into an old lady. 他跑過拐角處，撞著了一個老太太。
I ran after her, bumping against people in my rush. 我在后面追她，飛奔之中不斷撞到人。
