在否定疑問句中，否定詞not到底該放在主語前還是主語后？《朗文英語語法》有這樣一段說明：
在否定疑問句中，情態詞的完全形式同be, have, do一樣，not應置于主語之后（如Can you not help me? 你不能幫助我嗎?），但這種用法正式而少見，通常都有縮略形式：Can’t you help me?
