而Tomatoes are my favorite vegetables. 改為Tomatoes are my favorite vegetable. 是不是更好些？因為Tomatoes 雖為復數，但它是“一種”蔬菜。順便說一句，主語是復數，表語用單數是完全可以的，如：
The British are a sea-faring people. 英國是一個以航海為業的民族。
My children are a great help to me. 孩子們是我的得力幫手。
說Salad is my favorite vegetable. 好像有點奇怪，因為A salad is a mixture of raw or cold foods such as lettuce, cucumber, and tomatoes.
