be probable習(xí)慣上不與不定式結(jié)構(gòu)連用

■與 be possible 不一樣，be probable 通常不用于 It’s probable (for sb) to do sth句型。

他很可能會(huì)贏。

誤：It’s probable for him to win.

正：It’s probable that he will win.

若將句中的 probable 改為 possible 則是正確的。

■記住：要表示類(lèi)似意思 probable 通常使用的句型是：It’s probable that-clause. 如：

Is it probable that he will come today? 他今天很可能來(lái)嗎?

It’s probable that we’ll be a little late. 我們很可能會(huì)稍微晚一點(diǎn)兒到。
