關(guān)閉窗口 談?wù)劚容^級(jí)前冠詞的使用
比較級(jí)前通常不用冠詞，但有時(shí)也用，這主要見于以下情形：
1. 當(dāng)比較級(jí)后接名詞時(shí)，比較級(jí)前可能用冠詞，此時(shí)的冠詞不是修飾比較級(jí)，而是修飾其后的名詞。如：
Which of them is the better choice?—Well, it’s hard to tell. 他們誰是更合適的人選?——嗯，這很難說。
Some of the more time-consuming jobs can now be done by machines. 有些更費(fèi)時(shí)間的工作現(xiàn)在可以用機(jī)器做了.
但是，若受比較級(jí)修飾的名詞為表泛指的復(fù)數(shù)名詞或不可數(shù)名詞，則仍不用冠詞。如：
He’s got more money than the rest of us (put) together. 他的錢比我們大家的加在一起的總數(shù)還多。
Fewer people write with their left hand than with their right. 用左手寫字的人比用右手的少。
2. 當(dāng)要特指兩者中“較(更)……”時(shí)，比較級(jí)前通常要帶定冠詞，此時(shí)可視為比較級(jí)后省略了有關(guān)的名詞或代詞one，即定冠詞實(shí)為修飾被省略的名詞或代詞one。如：
Which of the two methods is the better? 這兩種方法哪一種更好(from www.yywords.com)?
Of the two brothers, the younger is more interesting. 在這兩兄弟中，年輕的這個(gè)更有趣。
There are two books on this subject, but I am not sure which is the better. 關(guān)于這個(gè)題目的書有兩本，但我不肯定哪一本更好。
3. 在比較級(jí)前用the表示程度(通常有表示原因、理由或條件的短語或從句)。如：
He’s had a holiday and looks the better for it. 他度假之后，氣色好多了。
I love him all the more for his faults. 正因?yàn)樗@些缺點(diǎn)，所以我越發(fā)愛他。
4. 用于“the+比較級(jí)，the+比較級(jí)”，表示“越……越……”。如：
The younger you are, the easier it is to learn. 年紀(jì)越輕，學(xué)習(xí)越容易。
The better I know her, the more I admire her. 我對(duì)她越了解，我就越愛慕她。
The more money you make, the more you spend. 你掙的錢越多，花的錢也越多。
5. 當(dāng)by far用于修飾比較級(jí)且置于其前時(shí)，比較級(jí)前要用the。如：
He is by far the cleverer than her. 他比她聰明得多。
It’s quicker by far to go by train. 坐火車去要快得多。
注：與比較級(jí)連用，通常要放在比較級(jí)之后，若放在比較級(jí)前，則比較級(jí)通常應(yīng)帶有冠詞。如：
He is cleverer by far than her.
It’s by far the quicker to go by train.
