考點7  考查序數詞或最高級前定冠詞的使用

根據英語習慣，在形容詞最高級前要用定冠詞。如：

This is the most difficult of the three. 這是三個中最難的。

Winter is the coldest season of the year. 冬天是一年最冷的季節。

但是，副詞最高級前的定冠詞有時也可以省略。如：

Who works (the) hardest? 誰工作最努力?

另外，在序數詞最高級前也要用定冠詞，用以表示特定的順序。如：

September is the ninth month of the year. 9月是一年的第9個月。

It was the first time she had seen him since Wednesday. 星期三以來這是她第一次見他。

【考例1】________ youngest leader in China is ________ man called Lu Hao.

A. The; a               B. A; the                 C. A; a                    D. An; a

【分析】答案選A。第一空應填定冠詞，因為其后有形容詞最高級youngest；第二空填不定冠語，表泛指。

【考例2】Welcome to our hotel. It’s ________ in the city.

A. good                 B. better                 C. best                   D. the best

【分析】答案選D。由于是在北京范圍內進行比較，故要用最高級，而最高級前面習慣上要用定冠詞。故選D。

考點8  考查固定搭配中冠詞的使用

冠詞在固定搭配中的用法比較復雜，主要視習慣而定。英語中有關的搭配非常多，同學們在復習時應注意積累。下面略舉幾例：

as a result 結果                                  as a rule 通常

by the way 順便說一句                     go to the cinema 去看電影

have a look 看一看                           have a try試一試

have a swim 游泳                              have a rest 休息

have a word with 同某人說句話      have a good time 玩過得開心

in the end 最終                                  in the sun 在陽光下

in the future 在未來                          make a living 謀生

【考例1】—How do you go to ________ work?

—I usually take ________ bus.

A. the, a                B. 不填, a              C. a, a                    D. the, 不填

【分析】答案選B。go to work為固定搭配，意為“去上班”，其中不用冠詞，由此可確定答案為B。注意第二空要填不定冠詞，take a bus意為“乘公共汽車”，但是如果是用by bus來表示“乘公共汽車”，則不能用冠詞。

【考例2】—Will you get there by ________ train?

—No, I’ll take ________ taxi. (http://ask.yygrammar.com/) 

A. 不填; a             B. a; the                 C. 不填; 不填       D. the; a

【分析】答案選A。英語中“by+交通工具”表示方式，在表示交通工具的名詞前通常不用冠詞；第二空為固定搭配，take a taxi意為“乘出租車”。
