如果我問同學們，你熟悉 not any 嗎？你肯定會說，非常熟悉！下面有兩個問題，你先不看后面的解釋，你能準確地回答嗎？不一定噢！
一、not any還是any not
漢語常說“任何……都不……”，如果直譯成英語好像就是“any…not…”，但這就錯了！因為按英語習慣，any只能出現在否定詞之后，不能出現在否定詞之前。如：
I don’t have any money. 我沒有錢。
There isn’t any milk in the fridge. 冰箱里沒有牛奶。
There aren’t any cars on the road at the moment. 這會兒路上沒有任何汽車。
比較下面的正誤句：
誤：Any man can’t do the work.
正：No man can do the work. 任何人都干不了這工作。
二、not any一定與no同義嗎
1. not any和no均可用作形容詞，其后可跟可數名詞或不可數名詞，兩者大致同義，只是用no語氣更強一些。如：
I telephoned, but there was no [wasn’t any] answer. 我打電話了，但沒人回答。
She’s unhappy because she has got no [hasn’t got any] friends. 她很苦惱，因為她沒有朋友。
但是，若用于句首，習慣上要能用no，一般不用not any。如：
No cigarette is harmless. 沒有無害的香煙。
No tourists came to the town that year. 那一年，沒有人到鎮上來旅游。
No decision will be taken before the autumn. 在秋季到來之前不會做出任何決定。
2. 當not any中的any為代詞時，not any不能用no代替（但可用none代替）。如：
There wasn’t any left.=There was none left. 一點兒也沒剩下。
前面說過，用作形容詞的not any通常不用于句首，但是用作代詞的not any可以用于句首。如：
Not any of these answers is correct. 這些答案沒有一個是正確。
