一、考查比較等級的基本用法
形容詞和副詞比較等級的基本用法是：不作比較，用原形；兩者比較，用比較級；三個或三個以上的事物作比較，則用最高級。如：
1. —Which season do you like _______, summer or winter?
— Summer. (湖南長沙中考題)
A. well B. best C. better D. good
解析：C。由題干中的summer or winter得知，表示兩者之間的比較，應用比較級，所以答案選C。句意為：“夏天和冬天你更喜歡哪個季節？”“夏天。”
2. —Which country is your favorite, Lin Tao？
—
A. worst B. better C. best D. good
解析：C。由問句中的favorite（最喜歡的，最喜愛的）可知，答句中空格中應填入最高級，所以答案應選C。句意為：“林濤，你最喜歡的國家是哪個？”“當然是法國。那是我最想去的地方。”
二、考查比較等級的修飾語
比較級的常見修飾語有a bit, a little, rather, much, far, a great / good deal, a lot, lots, a good bit, still, even, yet 等；最高級的常見修飾語有the second, the third, the very, much the, (by) far the, not quite the, nearly the, almost the 等修飾。如：
1. More and more people have a low-C life and the air is getting much______ than a few years ago. (山東濱州中考題)
A. clean B. cleanest C. cleaner D. the cleanest
解析：C。根據空格前的修飾語 much 可知，答案應選C。“much+比較級”表示“……得多”。句意為：越來越多的人們過著低碳生活，空氣變得比幾年前干凈多了。
2. In the future I think cities will be crowded because there will be a lot _______ people. (山東棗莊中考題)
A. more B. fewer C. much D. many
解析：A。根據空格前的修飾語 a lot 可知，本題應填比較級，可排除 C 和 D；再根據句中的 crowed（擁擠的）可知，本題應選 A。句意為：在未來，我認為城市會擁擠，因為將會有更多的人。

A. long B. longest C. longer D. length
解析：B。確定其比較的范圍是解答此題的關鍵。表示在某個范圍內是第幾時，一般在形容詞或副詞的最高級前加序數詞，故B為最佳答案。句意為：蘭州是中國第二長河——黃河經過的唯一省會城市。
三、考查 as…as 結構的相關用法
as…as結構表示“與……一樣”，其中要用形容詞或副詞的原級，不能用比較級或最高級。另外，還要注意as…as 結構的修飾語，其中常見的有nearly, almost, half, twice, three times等，且這些修飾語一定要放在 as…as結構的第一個as前面。如：
1. I don’t think they can do as ________ as we do.
A. best B. better C. good D. well
解析：D。as…as 之間要用形容詞或副詞的原級，故可先排除A和B。再根據行為動詞do要用副詞修飾，故選D。句意為：我不相信他們能做得跟我們一樣好。
2. The volunteer spoke as__________ as she could to make the visitors understand her. (上海中考題)
A. clearly B. more clearly C. most clearly D. the most clearly
解析：A。as…as 之間要用形容詞或副詞的原級，所以選A。句意為：這個志愿者盡可能說得清楚讓游客聽懂。
