陷阱3 混淆后接不定式或動名詞的動詞
根據英語的語法規則，當某動詞后接另一個動詞作賓語時，有時只能用不定式，有時只能用動名詞，同學們在復習時必須熟記，不可混淆。如：
他說完話后是一片沉默。
誤：There was a deadly silence after she had finished to speak.
正：There was a deadly silence after she had finished speaking.

陷阱4 混淆后接不定式和動名詞時的用法區別
有的動詞后接另一動詞時，既可用不定式形式，也可用動名詞形式，但意思有區別，如stop to do sth意為“停下來去做某事”，stop doing sth意為“停止做某事（即不做某事）”。如：
The bus stopped to pick up passengers. 公共汽車停下來接客。
The bus stopped picking up passengers. 公共汽車停止接客。
