陷阱3  將連系動詞誤用于被動語態

英語中有些連系動詞（如look, sound, smell, feel, taste等），雖然它們從漢語看來需要用被動語態，但它們總是用主動表式表示被動意義，因為連系動詞為不及物動詞，它們沒有被動語態形式。如：

那只狗看起來很危險。

誤：That dog is looked dangerous.

正：That dog looks dangerous.

你的想法聽起來很好。

誤：Your idea is sounded a good one.

正：Your idea sounds a good one.

陷阱4  根據漢語意思誤用被動語態

因為不及物動詞沒有賓語，所以若將其用于被動語態則沒有主語，故不能用于被動語態。但是值得注意的是，有些英語中的不及物動詞，譯成漢語時卻可能是“及物”的，很容易出錯，這類動詞如：take place(發生)，happen(發生)，come about(發生)，break out(爆發)，appear(出現)，disappear(消失)，last(持續)等。如

誤：Great changes have been taken place in my home town in the past ten years.
