一、定義與分類(lèi)
介詞是一種虛詞，不能單獨(dú)用作句子成分，通常用于名詞或代詞(以及相當(dāng)于名詞的其他詞語(yǔ))之前，表示其后詞語(yǔ)與句中其他詞語(yǔ)之間的關(guān)系。英語(yǔ)介詞從結(jié)構(gòu)上可分為簡(jiǎn)單介詞(如about)、合成介詞(如inside)、分詞介詞(如including)和成語(yǔ)介詞(如instead of)等。
二、介詞的賓語(yǔ)
介詞的賓語(yǔ)通常是名詞或代詞，若需動(dòng)詞作賓語(yǔ)，則通常用動(dòng)名詞形式。但是以下幾種情況比較特殊，考生需注意：
1. 表示“除了”的介詞 but, except 后接動(dòng)詞作賓語(yǔ)，通常用不定式；若其前有do，則不定式不帶to，若其前沒(méi)有do，則不定式通常帶to。如：
He wanted nothing but to stay there. 他只是想留在那里。
I’ve done everything you wanted except cook the meals. 你要我干的事我全干了，只是還沒(méi)做飯。
2. 介詞可接what從句作賓語(yǔ)，但通常不接that從句作賓語(yǔ)，遇此情況，應(yīng)先在介詞后加上 the fact。如：
No one paid attention to what he said. 沒(méi)人注意他說(shuō)的話(huà)。
No one paid attention to the fact that he was poor. 沒(méi)人注意他很窮。
注：表示“除了”的except 后可接that從句。如：
He has no special fault except that he smokes too much. 他除了抽煙太多之外，沒(méi)有什么特別的毛病。
3. 在某些特殊結(jié)構(gòu)中，形容詞、副詞、分詞、介詞短語(yǔ)等可用作介詞賓語(yǔ)。如：
It’s too hot in here. 這里面太熱了。
The cat jumped out from under the bed. 貓從床下跳出來(lái)。
Her pronunciation is far from perfect. 她的語(yǔ)音遠(yuǎn)不是完美的。
I can’t regard the matter as settled. 我不能認(rèn)為這事已經(jīng)解決。
三、常見(jiàn)成語(yǔ)介詞搭配
1. 其他詞+of
ahead of 在…之前，比…強(qiáng) cause of 因?yàn)?/SPAN>
inside of 在…以?xún)?nèi)，少于 instead of 代替，而不
outside of 在…外面，除…外 regardless of 不顧，不管
2. 其他詞+to
according to 根據(jù) as to 至于，關(guān)于
contrary to 違反 due to 由于，由于…的原因
near to 在…的附近 next to 緊挨著，緊次于
owing to 因?yàn)椋捎?/SPAN> thanks to 多虧，由于
3. in+其他詞+of
in advance of 在…前面 in aid of 幫助
in behalf of 為了(…的利益) in case of 如果，萬(wàn)一，以防
in celebration of 慶祝 in charge of 負(fù)責(zé)，管理
in defence of 保衛(wèi) in explanation of 解釋
in face of 面對(duì) in favour of 贊成，主張
in front of 在…前面 in honor of 紀(jì)念，祝賀，歡迎
in memory of 紀(jì)念 in need of 需要
in place of 代替 in possession of 擁有
in praise of 稱(chēng)贊 in respect of 關(guān)于，就…而言
in search of 尋找，搜找 in sight of 在看見(jiàn)…的地方
in spite of 雖然，盡管 in support of 為了支持(擁護(hù))…
in view of 鑒于，考慮到
4. in+其他詞+for
in exchange for 作為對(duì)…的交換 in preparation for 為…作準(zhǔn)備
in return for 作為…的報(bào)答 in reward for 作為…的報(bào)酬
5. in+其他詞+to
in addition to 加之，除…之外 in answer to 回答，響應(yīng)
in reply to 對(duì)…的回答(答復(fù)) in response to 回答，響應(yīng)
