關(guān)閉窗口 關(guān)于現(xiàn)在分詞短語(yǔ)being…用作后置定語(yǔ)
根據(jù)英語(yǔ)習(xí)慣，由現(xiàn)在分詞 being 構(gòu)成的短語(yǔ)一般不能用作后置定語(yǔ)，除非這個(gè) being 是構(gòu)成被動(dòng)結(jié)構(gòu)的助動(dòng)詞。如可以說(shuō)：
Who is the woman being operated on? 正在動(dòng)手術(shù)的女人是誰(shuí)?
I wasn’t interested in the question being discussed. 我對(duì)討論的問(wèn)題不感興趣。
The distinction being made is purely academic. 作出的這一區(qū)分是純學(xué)術(shù)性的。
The building being renovated is an ancient temple. 正在翻修的那個(gè)建筑是一座古廟。
This was one of the experiments being carried out in the country. 這是國(guó)內(nèi)正在進(jìn)行的試驗(yàn)之一。
She recognized the potential for error in the method being used. 她意識(shí)到在所采用的方法中可能出錯(cuò)。
The gunman escaped on a motorcycle being ridden by an accomplice. 槍手乘坐一輛由同伙駕駛的摩托車(chē)逃跑了。
The nuclear plant now being built is expected to be commissioned in five years' time. 正在建造的核電站預(yù)計(jì)在五年后投產(chǎn)。
但是，如果其中的being不是助動(dòng)詞，故不能這樣用（可考慮改用定語(yǔ)從句）。如：
凡10點(diǎn)鐘以后仍在外面的人將被逮捕。
正：Anyone who is outside after ten o’clock will be arrested.
誤：Anyone being outside after ten o’clock will be arrested.
誰(shuí)要是遲到了，老板會(huì)向誰(shuí)嚴(yán)厲地皺一下眉。
正：The owner gives a severe frown to anyone who is late.
誤：The owner gives a severe frown to anyone being late.
他住在我們對(duì)面的那棟房子里。
正：He lives in the house which is opposite ours.
誤：He lives in the house being opposite ours.
對(duì)一只狩獵的動(dòng)物來(lái)說(shuō)，好的視力是一種極為有用的品質(zhì)。
正：Good eyesight is a quality which is extremely valuable for a hunting animal.
誤：Good eyesight is a quality being extremely valuable for a hunting animal.
