fool與foolish的用法

一、fool的用法

1. 用作名詞，表示“傻子”，通常為可數名詞。如：

I do feel a fool. 我的確覺得自己是個傻子。

但是，在be fool enough to do sth結構中，fool具有形容詞的性質，不可數，其前不用冠詞。如：

I was fool enough to believe him. 我竟然相信他，真夠傻的。

He was fool enough to tell them everything. 他真傻，把一切事情都告訴他們了。

2. 用作動詞，表示“愚弄”“欺騙”，總是及物的。如：

She fooled that man. 她騙了那個人。

要表示“欺騙某人做某事”，可用fool sb into doing sth，習慣上不說fool sb to do sth。如：

I was fooled into believing their promises. 我被騙得相信了他們的承諾。

二、foolish的用法

1. 比較同義句型：

It was foolish of her to say such a thing.=She was foolish to say such a thing. 她說出那樣的話來，真是太蠢了。

He was foolish to leave his car unlocked.=He was so foolish as to leave his car unlocked. 他真傻，車都沒有鎖。

2. foolish, stupid, silly的區別：foolish指無頭腦，缺乏常識或判斷力，相當漢語的“愚蠢”；stupid指智力、理解力或學習能力很差，相當漢語的“笨”；silly指頭腦簡單，傻頭傻腦或令人發笑，相當于漢語的“傻”。如：

She is a silly woman, but not a stupid one. 她是個頭腦簡單的女人，但不能算笨。
