序數詞前是否用使用冠詞

1. 序數詞前通常要用定冠詞。如：

I left the third column blank. 我第三欄空沒有填。

She suffered a puncture in the fifth lap. 第5 圈時她的輪胎給扎了個孔。

School lost its appeal for her in the second year. 到了第二年，學校就再不能引起她的興趣了。

This is the fourth time the prime minister has faced ordeal by egg (=had eggs thrown at him).  這是首相第4 次經受雞蛋的洗禮了。

但有時也可用不定冠詞，其區(qū)別是：強調順序時用定冠詞；當不強調順序，而是表示“又，還，再”時用不定冠詞。如：

I like the third girl. 我喜歡第三個女孩。(至少有三個女孩供選擇，特指)

I saw a third girl. 我又看見了第三個女孩。(暗示原來已看見兩個，這已是第三個)

2. 當序數詞前有物主代詞修飾時，其前不能再用冠詞。如：

This is my first visit to Boston. 這是我第一次來波士頓游覽。

She was pregnant with her second child. 她正懷第二個孩子。

This makes our third party this month. 這算我們這個月第3次聚會了。
