五、冠詞的位置

在通常情況下，冠詞放在名詞前，若名詞前帶有形容詞等修飾語，它則放在相應的修飾語前。如：

It’s a good chance for you to go. 這是你去的好機會。

但以下幾種情況比較特殊，同學們需引起注意：

1. 若修飾名詞的形容詞受 too, so, as, how, however 等副詞的修飾，則通常將不定冠詞置于形容詞與名詞之前。如：

She is as good a cook as her mother. 她跟她媽媽一樣會做飯。

It is too difficult a book for beginners. 那本書供初學者看太難了(from www.52ysedu.com)。

2. 若單數可數名詞前有such, what, many 等詞修飾，不定冠詞應置于它們之后。如：

What a good heart you have! 你的心腸真好!

I have been there many a time. 我去過那兒很多次。

I’ve never heard of such a thing. 我從來沒聽過這樣的事(from www.52ysedu.com)。

注：“many a＋單數可數名詞”是一種較文的說法，在現代英語的口語或非正式文體中，通常用“many＋復數名詞”代之。

3. 不定冠詞與副詞 quite, rather 連用時，不定冠詞通常置于其后，但若其后的名詞前有形容詞修飾，則不定冠詞放在 quite, rather 之前或之后均可以。如：

She remained standing for quite a while. 她站了好一會兒。

We had rather a cold welcome. 我們受到相當冷淡的接待。

We had a rather cold welcome. 我們受到相當冷淡的接待。

4. 與 both, all, half, twice等連用時，冠詞通常應置于其后：

All the children are under twelve.所有的孩子都不滿12歲。

We bought the book at half the price. 我們半價買了這本書。

He eats twice the amount that you eat. 他比你多吃一倍。
