首先要說明的是，句中的現(xiàn)在分詞可理解為時(shí)間狀語，可視為在其前省略了when或while。句意為：他坐在冰冷的椅子上感到不舒服。又如：
Carole says she’s not comfortable lying flat. 卡蘿爾說她平躺著不舒服。
She felt more comfortable talking in her native tongue. 她說母語感覺更放松。
另外，comfortable的反義詞uncomfortable也有類似用法。如下面一句摘自《柯林斯高級(jí)英語詞典》：
I feel uncomfortable lying. 說謊時(shí)我覺得很不安。
另外，不能視為在現(xiàn)在分詞前省略了about或with。因?yàn)?/FONT>be comfortable about / with 有其特殊用法：
——comfortable about 對(duì)……感到輕松或無憂慮
They didn’t feel comfortable about her travelling alone. 他們對(duì)她獨(dú)自旅游感到擔(dān)憂。
Lots of people don't feel comfortable about public speaking. 許多人對(duì)當(dāng)眾講話感到不自在。
——comfortable with sb 和某人相處感覺自在
I don’t feel comfortable with him. 和他相處我感到不自在。

Is everyone comfortable with the arrangement? 這樣的安排大家都滿意嗎？
Few of us are comfortable with confrontations. 我們中幾乎沒有人能輕松面對(duì)公然反對(duì)。
另外，comfortable的反義詞uncomfortable也有類似用法。如：
