如何理解multiple choice questions

問：《新概念英語》課后練習題型為：Multiple choice questions 多項選擇題。可給出的答案是清一水的單項選擇。為什么？那么，單項選擇題該如何翻譯？謝謝！
答：你對multiple choice的意思誤解了。multiple choice questions（多項選擇題）不是指“所選項”，而是指“待選項”。請看有關英語詞典對multiple choice的解釋：
《柯林斯高級英語學習詞典》第5版對multiple choice的解釋是：
In a multiple choice test or question, you have to choose the answer that you think is right from several possible answers that are listed on the question paper.
《朗文當代英語詞典》第4版對multiple choice的解釋是：
a multiple choice examination or question shows several possible answers, and you have to choose the correct one
《劍橋高級學習詞典》對multiple choice的解釋是：
describes an exam or question in which you are given a list of answers and you have to choose the correct one
《麥克米蘭英語詞典》對multiple choice的解釋是：
giving you several answers from which you have to choose the one you think is correct
《牛津高階英語詞典》對multiple choice的解釋是：
(of questions in an exam) showing several possible answers from which you must choose the correct one
《美國傳統詞典》第4版對multiple choice的解釋是：
