如何理解multiple choice questions

問：《新概念英語》課后練習(xí)題型為：Multiple choice questions 多項(xiàng)選擇題。可給出的答案是清一水的單項(xiàng)選擇。為什么？那么，單項(xiàng)選擇題該如何翻譯？謝謝！
答：你對multiple choice的意思誤解了。multiple choice questions（多項(xiàng)選擇題）不是指“所選項(xiàng)”，而是指“待選項(xiàng)”。請看有關(guān)英語詞典對multiple choice的解釋：
《柯林斯高級(jí)英語學(xué)習(xí)詞典》第5版對multiple choice的解釋是：
In a multiple choice test or question, you have to choose the answer that you think is right from several possible answers that are listed on the question paper.

a multiple choice examination or question shows several possible answers, and you have to choose the correct one
