要表示“做某事的夢想”，英語習慣上不用dream to do sth，而說 dream of doingsth。如：
His dream of becoming President had come true. 他當總統的夢想實現了。
She had this romantic dream of living in a windmill. 她曾經有過住在風車磨坊里的浪漫夢想。
This summer I will realize my dream of going to
注意，下面一句中 dream后的不定式不是定語，而是主語：
It has been his dream to travel round the world. 做環球旅行一直是他的夢想。
6. expectation 希望，期望
用于expectation of doing sth，意為“……的希望（期望）”。如：
Our team has every expectation of winning. 我們隊勝券在握。
He has little expectation of winning a prize. 他對獲獎不抱什么希望。
He is unemployed and has no expectation of finding work at the moment. 他失業了，此刻也沒有找到工作的希望。
動詞expect后可以接動詞不定式，但不接動名詞，而其派生名詞expectation后卻通常不接不定式，而接of doing sth，注意不要弄混淆。
7. habit 習慣
用于habit of doing sth，表示做某事的習慣。如：
Are you in the habit of rising early? 你有早起的習慣嗎?
You need to form the habit of reading carefully. 你需要養成仔細閱讀的習慣。
He has got into the habit of looking after her. 他已養成了照顧她的習慣。
I can’t get out of the habit of waking at six in the morning. 我早上一到六點就醒，這習慣改不掉了。
注意，下面的句子情況有所不同（其中的不定式是主語，不是定語）：
It’s my habit to get up early every morning. 每天早起是我的習慣。
It was not his habit to ask people for things. 他沒有向別人要東西的習慣。
8. hobby 嗜好，業余愛好
用于one’s hobby of doing sth，表示“某人做某事的業余愛好或嗜好”。如：
His hobby of winemaking was fast becoming a profitable sideline. 他釀酒的業余愛好很快就成了一項很賺錢的副業。
He pursued his hobby of collecting old almanacs for so many years. 許多年來他一直保持著收集舊歷書的嗜好。
9. hope 希望
用于hope of doing sth，表示“做某事的希望”。如：
They have great hopes of winning. 他們大有獲勝的希望。
He still has the hope of seeing her again. 他還有希望再見到她。
有時動名詞前可以有邏輯主語。如：
There’s not much hope of him coming. 他來的希望不大。
Doctors hold out little hope of her recovering. 醫生幫助她康復的希望甚微。
用于in the hope of doing sth或in hopes of doing sth，表示“懷著會發生某情況的希望”。如：
She worked hard in hopes of making money. 她努力工作是希望賺錢。
Both sides have agreed to meet, in the hope of reaching a compromise. 雙方已經同意會面，希望能達成妥協。
注意，動詞hope后通常接不定式作賓語，但名詞hope通常不接不定式作定語，而接of doing sth。比較(www.52ysedu.com)：
