4. 用于虛擬語(yǔ)氣：在虛擬條件句中，當(dāng)談?wù)撨^去的情況時(shí)，其句型通常是：主句用“could / would / should /might +have+過去分詞”，從句用過去完成時(shí)。如：

五、連用 well和as well

1. may well：主要用于加強(qiáng)推測(cè)的語(yǔ)氣，表示具有較大的可能性。如：

He may well refuse. 他很可能會(huì)拒絕。

It may well be true. 那很可能是真的。

其中的may也可換成might，但語(yǔ)氣更不確定。如：

We might well get injured. 我們很可能受傷。

2. may as well：其意為“不妨”“還是……為好”等。如：

You may as well ask him. 你不妨問問他。

It’s not very far, so we may as well go on foot. 那地方不太遠(yuǎn)，所以我們還是走著去吧。

其中的may也可換成might，但語(yǔ)氣更不確定。如：

You might as well stay with us. 你不妨和我們一道住。

另外，有時(shí)還可在as well前加上一個(gè)副詞just。如：

This holiday isn’t much fun. We might just as well be back home. 這個(gè)假日過得很乏味，還不如回家去。
