二、英語句子的詞序特點

許多學(xué)生在寫英語句子時最頭痛的事就是弄不清英語句子的詞序。事實上，在許多情況下，英語與漢語的詞序是一致的。如：

中國建設(shè)銀行 → China Construction Bank

中國工農(nóng)紅軍 → the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army

我喜歡輕音樂。→ I like light music.

你推我拉�！� You push and I pull.

他有很多朋友�！� He has a lot of friends.

他的兒子常常感冒�！� His son often catches cold.

他們每人有一間臥室�！� They each had a bedroom.

你必須履行你的諾言。→ You must carry out your promise.

我聽說你需要一位女秘書。→ I hear you want a woman secretary.

但是，有時英漢兩種語言的詞序是不同的，甚至完全相反。如：

rich and poor 貧富                     food and drink 飲食

land and water 水陸                    north and south 南北

food and clothing 衣食                flesh and blood 血肉

backwards and forwards 來回地

有趣的是，有時漢語只有一種詞序，而英語有兩種詞序。如：

day and night / night and day 日夜(但漢語不說“夜日”)

old and young / young and old 老少(但漢語不說“少老”)

father and mother / mother and father 父母(但漢語不說“母父”)

mind and body / body and mind 身心(但漢語不說“心身”)

又如，漢語說“兄妹”，英語通常說成 brother and sister，但有時也說 sister and brother，如 2001年春季上海高考英語的閱讀理解題的A篇文章就有 his sister and brother 的用例；再如，漢語說“男女”，英語通常說成 man and woman，但有時也說 woman and man，如2001年全國高考英語的閱讀理解的E篇文章就有 200 women and men 的用例；等等。
