名詞page的用法與搭配

1. 表示書或雜志等的“頁”，既可指“單面”（one side）也可指“雙面”（both sides）。如：

Draw a line across the page. 在這頁上畫一條橫線。

Several pages have been torn out of this book. 這本書被撕掉了幾頁。

2. 表示在某一頁上，其前通常用介詞on。如：

There is a picture on the next page. 下一頁有插圖。

The answers are given on page 101. 答案在第101頁。

表示在一頁的篇幅內(nèi)，其前也通常用介詞on。如：

Write small so that everything will fit on one page. 寫小點，這樣所有的內(nèi)容都能放在一頁里了。

如果將某一頁當(dāng)作一個“點”來看待，則可在其前用介詞at。如：

Everybody, we begin at page 50 today. 各位，我們今天從第50頁開始。

比較下面兩句：

The map is on page 32. 地圖在32頁上。

I opened the book at page 32. 我把書打開，翻到32頁。

但是，若表示翻到第多少頁，與turn to搭配。如：

Now turn to page 57. 現(xiàn)在翻到第57頁。

3. 表示“第……頁”時，英語通常用page…這樣用的形式，其中的page可以大寫，也可以小寫；如果不止一頁，注意要用復(fù)數(shù)pages。

有時使用縮略式，此時要注意：單數(shù)略作p.，復(fù)數(shù)略作pp.，“第55頁”可譯為 page 55 或 p. 55，而“第3, 4, 5頁”可譯為 pages 3, 4, and 5或pp. 3-5。

The questions to be answered are on p. 42. 應(yīng)回答的問題在第42頁。

4. 表示某一頁的頂端（即頁眉）和底部（即頁腳），可用at the head [top] of the page和at the bottom [foot] of the page，而不說a the page top [head]或at the page bottom [foot]。如：

Put the notes at the foot of the page. 將注釋放在頁面的下端。

Put your name in brackets at the top of each page. 把你的名字填在每頁上端的括號內(nèi)。

5. 在書和論文里，see above的意思是“見上文”“見前文”，see over的意思是“見下頁”“見后文”。如(www.52ysedu.com)：
