He is blind in both eyes.

He is deaf in one ear.

The horse is lame in the left foot.

He is deaf of one ear.

His eyes are blind. / His ears are deaf. / His legs are lame.

The old man has gone blind (deaf, lame).

He set up a school for the blind (the deaf, the lame).

Now the blind have books to read.

The school is set up for the deaf.

The lame are people who are lame.

(4) 形容一個很瞎,通常說他 as blind as a bat;形容一個人很聾,通常說他 as deaf as a post [stone, door-post, door-nail]。 如:very [stone] deaf 很聾。

He was blind to all arguments.

He was deaf to all my request.

My parents turned a deaf ear to my requests for money.

You shouldn’t really drink here, but I’m willing to turn a blind eye (to it).
