在通常情況下，用于名詞前作定語要用形容詞，不用能用副詞。但是，英語中有少數(shù)副詞可以用于名詞作定語，這類副詞主要是某些表時間和地點的副詞。如：
Most of the people here know each other. 這里大多數(shù)人互相認識。
How about the living there? Is it cheap? 那里的生活怎么樣? 便宜嗎?
The temperature today is seventy degrees Fahrenheit. 今天氣溫是華氏70度。
I had the good fortune to be chosen for a trip abroad. 我真幸運，被選中出國旅行。
Put the biscuits on the shelf above. 把餅干放到上面的架子上。
Her speech yesterday was a signal that her views have changed. 她昨天的講話標志著她的觀點已經(jīng)轉(zhuǎn)變。
He turned the radio down so that he shouldn’t disturb the old lady downstairs. 為了不打擾樓下的老太太，他把收音機音量調(diào)低了。
