一、比較級(jí)的常見(jiàn)修飾語(yǔ)

比較級(jí)的常見(jiàn)修飾語(yǔ)有far, even, still, many, more, a lot, lots, a great deal, a bit, a little, slightly, rather, three times, any, no, very much 等。如：

Today is even colder than yesterday. 今天比昨天更冷。

Einstein once said, “Politics is much more difficult than physics.” 愛(ài)因斯坦曾說(shuō)，“政治比物理更難。”

The sick man seems still worse today than yesterday. 那個(gè)病人的情況今天似乎比昨天更糟。

二、最高級(jí)的常見(jiàn)修飾語(yǔ)

最高級(jí)的常見(jiàn)修飾語(yǔ)有 (by) far, much, nearly, almost, not quite, by no means, very, second, next 等。如：

This is much the most difficult. 這是最最難的。

He is by far the tallest among us. 他是我們當(dāng)中最高的。

It is China’s third largest city. 它是中國(guó)的第大三城市。

I want to give my children the very best education I can afford. 我想給我孩子力所能及的最良好的教育。

注：(1) very, second, third 等通常不用于修飾比較級(jí)，但可用于修飾最高級(jí)，且要放在最高級(jí)前的定冠詞之后，而不是之前。

(2) by far 與最高級(jí)連用時(shí)，通常可放在最高級(jí)之前或之后；而與比較級(jí)連用時(shí)卻通常要放在比較級(jí)之后，若放在比較級(jí)前，則比較級(jí)通常應(yīng)帶有冠詞。如：

He is by far the tallest among us. 他是我們當(dāng)中最高的。

She is the best teacher by far. 她是最最好的老師。

He is by far the cleverer than her. 他比她要聰明得多。
