look, sound, smell, taste, feel等連系動(dòng)詞的用法與易錯(cuò)點(diǎn)

用作連系動(dòng)詞，表示感覺，其意思為：look（看起來），sound（聽起來），smell（聞起來），taste（嘗起來），feel（摸起來）等，它們?cè)谟梅ㄉ嫌幸韵绿攸c(diǎn)：

1. 作為連系動(dòng)詞，其后的表語可以是形容詞，但是通常不能是副詞。如：

這飯菜聞起來真香。

誤：The dinner smells well.

正：The dinner smells good.

他說的聽起來好像是真的。

誤：What he says sounds truly.

正：What he says sounds true.

2. 表示感覺，通常以被感覺的東西作主語，此時(shí)它們雖有被動(dòng)詞意味，但不能用被動(dòng)態(tài)。如：

這學(xué)校看起來很美。

誤：The school is looked very beautiful.

正：The school looks very beautiful.

這湯嘗起來很鮮。

誤：The soup is tasted nice.

正：The soup tastes nice.

3. 除 look 外，其他幾個(gè)動(dòng)詞通常不用于進(jìn)行時(shí)態(tài)。如：

誤：What you says is sounding reasonable.

誤：It is smelling [tasting] nice.

誤：Glass is feeling smooth.

但是，若 feel 不表示“聞起來”，而表示“感覺”，則可以用于進(jìn)行時(shí)。如：

How are you feeling now? 你現(xiàn)在感覺如何?

I’m feeling terrible. 我感到難受極了。

另外，若用作實(shí)義動(dòng)詞，它們都可以用于進(jìn)行時(shí)態(tài)。如：

I’m tasting the soup. 我正在嘗這湯。

He’s smelling the roses. 他在聞玫瑰花。

4. 除 look 偶爾可后接 to be 外，其余動(dòng)詞均不能后接 to be。如：

誤：The material feels to be soft.（應(yīng)去掉 to be）

誤：The story sounds to be true.（應(yīng)去掉 to be）

5. 其后均可接介詞 like。如：

It sounds like thunder. 這聲音好似雷鳴。

This looks like [tastes like, smells like, feels like] an orange. 這東西看起來（嘗起來、聞起來、摸起來）像橘子。

另外，taste 和 smell 后還可接介詞 of，表示“有……的味道”。如：

It tastes of [smells of] fish. 這東西有魚的味道。

6. feel有時(shí)可表示“使（讓）人感覺起來”。如：

It feels cold in here. 這兒很冷。

I love to go to the seaside in summer. It feels good to lie in the sun or swim in the cool sea. 夏天我喜歡到海濱玩，在海濱曬太陽或在涼爽的海水里游泳那是很愜意的。
