現(xiàn)在我們再來看看這道來自湖南卷的高考題：

— The food here is nice enough. 這兒的食物相當(dāng)不錯(cuò)。

— My friend introduced me a right place. 我的朋友為我介紹了一個(gè)很不錯(cuò)的地方。

很顯然，句中的introduce不是在“介紹人們互相認(rèn)識(shí)”，而是在“為某人介紹一個(gè)地方”，而這與introduce的用法顯然并不吻合。

事實(shí)上，題干中說的“介紹”，其實(shí)是指“推薦”，所以我們認(rèn)為應(yīng)將句中的introduce改為recommend，即應(yīng)改為：

My friend recommended me a right place.(www.52ysedu.com)

英語慣用法專家葛傳椝教授在其《英語慣用法詞典》（上海譯文出版社）上指出：

說“介紹”書報(bào)等，該用recommend，不該用introduce，如可以說Can you recommend (me) a dictionary? 不可說 Can you introduce (me) a dictionary?

下面我們再來看看兩個(gè)用recommend表示“介紹”的例子：

Can you recommend me a good novel? 你給我介紹一本好的小說行嗎? （摘自《牛津高階英漢雙解詞典》第6版recommend詞條）

Jamie sought out an inexpensive boarding-house recommended to him by a sailor aboard ship. 杰米找到了一個(gè)便宜的供膳宿舍，那是船上一名水手向他介紹的。（摘自《薄冰高級(jí)英語語法》第3.61節(jié)）

順便說一句，還經(jīng)常聽到有的人在表示“介紹情況”“介紹某學(xué)校”“介紹某國家”“介紹某機(jī)構(gòu)”等場合使用introduce，其實(shí)也是對introduce的誤用。如：

◎班上的同學(xué)互相介紹自己的國家。

誤：The students in the class introduced their own countries to each other.

正：The students in the class told each other about their own countries.

◎現(xiàn)在我們的美國朋友要向大家介紹她自己的研究情況。

誤：Our friend from America will now introduce her research to us.

正：Our friend from America will now tell us about her research.

◎莎士比亞的戲劇向我們介紹了當(dāng)時(shí)生活的許多情況。

誤：Shakespeare’s plays introduce to us a lot about contemporary life.

正：Shakespeare’s plays tell us a lot about contemporary life.

◎在今天晚上的節(jié)目中我們重點(diǎn)介紹德國。

誤：In tonight’s programme our focus is to introduce Germany.

正：In tonight’s programme our focus is on Germany.(www.52ysedu.com)
