9. 將否定詞not until置于句首　　

Not until he received her letter did he fully understand the depth of her feelings. 他直到收到她的信之后才充分理解她的感情有多深。　　

Not until I left home did I begin to understand how strange my family was. 只有在我離開家以后，我才開始理解我的家庭有多么奇怪。　　

二、only型倒裝　　

所謂only型倒裝，指的是當(dāng)“only+狀語(yǔ)”位于句首時(shí)，其后句子要用部分倒裝。我們先看看高考是怎樣考的（答案分別為AC）：　　

1. Only after Mary read her composition the second time ______ the spelling mistake. (2012天津卷)　　

A. did she notice       B. she noticed           C. does she notice      D. she has noticed　　

2. Only with the greatest of luck ______ to escape from the rising flood waters. (2012上海卷)

【考點(diǎn)歸納】“only+狀語(yǔ)”位于句首時(shí)引出的倒裝主要有以下三類：　　

1. only+副詞　　

Only later did we realize the true significance of his remark. 我們直到后來才明白他的話的真正含義。　　

The pilot reassured the passengers. Only then did I realize how dangerous the situation had been. 飛機(jī)駕駛員要乘客們放心，這時(shí)我才明白剛才的情況有多危險(xiǎn)。　　

2. only+介詞短語(yǔ)　　

Only by shouting was he able to make himself heard. 他只有叫喊才能讓別人聽到他。　　

Only after her death was I able to appreciate her. 只有到她死后我才認(rèn)識(shí)到她的價(jià)值。　　

3. only+狀語(yǔ)從句　　

Only when we landed did we see how badly the plane had been damaged. 我們只是在著陸之后才看到飛機(jī)損壞的嚴(yán)重程度。
