1. 用作名詞，意為“地址”。漢語中的“你住在哪? ”在英語中不能直譯為：Where is your address? 因為此句的實際意思是“你的地址放在哪里?”(即寫有你的地址的紙條放在哪兒了?)

2. 用作動詞，注意以下用法：

I admit breaking the window. 我承認(rèn)打破了窗子。

表示“承認(rèn)”時，有時用于 admit to, 此時的 admit為不及物動詞，但該結(jié)構(gòu)中的介詞 to 常可省略，省略介詞后 admit 即為及物動詞。如：

He would never admit to being wrong. 他從不認(rèn)錯。
