(2) 21—99 的表示法。先說(shuō)“幾十”，再說(shuō)“幾”，中間加連字號(hào)：

【說(shuō)明】① 英語(yǔ)沒(méi)有“萬(wàn)”這個(gè)單位，要表示“萬(wàn)”須借用thousand，如“一萬(wàn)”用“十千”表示(ten thousand)，“十萬(wàn)”用“百千”表示(one hundred thousand)。

② hundred, thousand, million等詞在讀數(shù)時(shí)不帶復(fù)數(shù)詞尾-s(即用單數(shù)形式)：

正：three hundred and thirty-five (335) / two thousand and forty-one (2041)

誤：three hundreds and thirty-five (335) / two thousands and forty-one (2041)

但是，若不是用于讀數(shù)，而是用于泛指許多，則用復(fù)數(shù)：

Thousands of people went there. 數(shù)千人去了那兒。

Millions of workers lost their work. 數(shù)百萬(wàn)人失業(yè)。

③ 在hundred 后通常加上連詞，不過(guò)此and 在美國(guó)英語(yǔ)中可以省略。若讀數(shù)中沒(méi)有 hundred，則在thousand后加and。

2. 有關(guān)基數(shù)詞用法的幾點(diǎn)說(shuō)明

(1) 表示整十的基數(shù)詞有時(shí)用于復(fù)數(shù)形式，表示人的歲數(shù)或年代：

The man died in his thirties. 這個(gè)人三十多歲就死了。

He joined the army in the eighties. 他于80年代參軍。

(2) 用基數(shù)詞表示時(shí)刻時(shí)要注意以下幾點(diǎn)：

① 若為整點(diǎn)鐘，則直接讀相應(yīng)的基數(shù)詞；若為非整點(diǎn)鐘，則分別以“時(shí)”和“分”為單位用相應(yīng)的基數(shù)詞讀出：

at twelve  在12點(diǎn)         at nine twenty-five 在9點(diǎn)25分

② 對(duì)于帶“分”的時(shí)間，也可借助past(過(guò))和to(差)這兩個(gè)介詞來(lái)表示(在美國(guó)英語(yǔ)中用after表示“過(guò)”)。但是注意，這樣表示時(shí)“分”不能超過(guò)30，否則應(yīng)作處理，如10:42應(yīng)處理成“11點(diǎn)差18分”：

10:22 讀作twenty-two past (after) ten    9:46 讀作fourteen minutes to ten

以上分鐘后帶了minutes一詞。若“分”為5, 10, 15, 20 等五的倍數(shù)，則可省略minutes：

10:05 讀作five (minutes) past [after] ten  9:20 讀作twenty (minutes) past [after] nine

若“分”為15或45，可借用quarter 一詞；若“分”為30，可借用half一詞：

9:15 讀作a quarter past nine         6:30 讀作half past six

(3) 年份的讀法。通常以“百”為單位來(lái)讀：

1972 讀作 nineteen (hundred and) sixty-two

1995 讀作 nineteen (hundred and) ninety-five
