一、awake的用法

1. 醒著的(尤指剛要睡覺(jué)和剛睡完覺(jué))(not asleep, esp immediately before and after sleeping)

(1) 作表語(yǔ)。例如：

They aren’t awake yet. 他們還沒(méi)醒呢。

Are the children still awake? 孩子們還沒(méi)睡著嗎?

They’re wide (ie fully) awake. 他們精神著呢(毫無(wú)睡意)。

(2) 作賓語(yǔ)補(bǔ)足語(yǔ)  例如：

The noise was keeping everyone awake. 喧鬧聲吵得大家都睡不著。

(3) 作后置定語(yǔ) 例如：

He was the only person awake at the moment. 他是那時(shí)唯一醒著的人。

2. 對(duì)某事物覺(jué)察到的；意識(shí)到的；警覺(jué)的 (conscious or aware of sth )

作表語(yǔ)。例如：

Are you fully awake to the danger you’re in? 你充分意識(shí)到自己所處的危險(xiǎn)了嗎?

二、awake的搭配

1. 醒著的

(1) fully / thoroughly / scarcely / wide awake。例如：

By now, the baby was wide awake. 現(xiàn)在孩子還完全醒著。

(2) hardly  / barely  / only half awake 例如：

It was very early and I was only half awake. 天很早，我半睡半醒。

(3) still awake。例如：

The children were still awake when we went out.，我們走了出去時(shí)，孩子們還醒著。

(4) be / lie awake。 例如：

He lay awake in his bed. 他醒著躺在床上。

(5) come / jerk awake。例如：

Claudia came awake slowly. 克勞迪亞慢慢醒了。

Stephen jerked awake from a nightmare. 斯蒂芬猛地從噩夢(mèng)醒來(lái)。

(6)  keep / remain / stay awake。 例如：

He was struggling to stay awake.  他努力保持清醒。

(7)  jerk / jolt / nudge / shake sb awake。例如：

A few hours later Benjamin shook me awake. 幾個(gè)小時(shí)后本杰明把我晃醒。

(8)  keep sb awake。例如：

The noise had kept her awake. 噪音使她睡不著。

注：awake作后置定語(yǔ)，作前置定語(yǔ)時(shí)用waking。

2. 意識(shí)到的

awake to 例如：(www.52ysedu.com)

We must awake to our responsibilities. 我們一定要認(rèn)識(shí)到自己的職責(zé)。

We are fully awake to the dangers of the situation. 我們充分意識(shí)到局勢(shì)的危險(xiǎn)。
