一、akimbo的用法

1. 基本詞義：兩手叉腰的 (used of arms and legs) bent outward with the joint away from the body 

2. 作表語(yǔ)。如：

He was akimbo upon the silent earth.

3. 作賓語(yǔ)補(bǔ)足語(yǔ)。如：

He stood in front of the shop with arms akimbo. 他兩手叉腰, 站在鋪?zhàn)忧啊?/SPAN>

The exclusively personal attention which he devoted to each one, standing half bent, ear to one side, elbows akimbo, saying: “Soup--green turtle, yes.” 他對(duì)每一位顧客都悉心專門地伺候，半彎著腰立在旁邊，側(cè)耳傾聽(tīng)，兩手叉腰，口里念著：“湯——甲魚(yú)湯，好的。”
