四、in front of, behind, around

(A) in front of表示“在……前面”，指在外部。如：

There is a tall tree in front of our classroom. 我們教室前面有一棵高樹�！　　　　�

比較：in the front of表示“在……前部”，指在內部。如：

比較：towards僅指朝著某個方向，不一定是目的地；to指到目的地；for指向目的地，且常用于leave for; start for等固定搭配中。

(D) into表示“進入”。如：

The teacher came into the classroom with a smile. 老師微笑著走進了教室。

比較：into由外進入到里面，是動態的；而in是指靜態的位置。

(E) out of表示“從……出來”。如：

They pulled him out of the water.  他們把他從水里拉了出來。

比較：out of是指從里面出來，是動態的；而outside是指靜態的位置。

六、along, across, through, over

(A) along表示“沿著”街、路、河岸等線形物。如：

There are all kinds of beautiful flowers along the street. 沿街有著各種美麗的花。

(B) across表示“橫穿”某一平面，或“橫過”某一線形物。如：

Pipes carry oil across the desert. 管道將石油輸送過沙漠。

It’s dangerous to run across the busy road.  跑著穿越繁忙的馬路是很危險的。

(C) through指從某物的內部“穿過”。如：

It took us ten minutes to drive through the tunnel. 開車穿過這條隧道花了我們10分鐘時間。

(D) over指“越過”某一障礙物。如(from www.52ysedu.com)：

The bear went over the mountain. 熊翻越了高山。

七、at, in

at指較小的地方，如車站、家等；而in多指在較大地方，如國家、城市、大洲等。如：

Please wait for me at the bus station. 請在公共汽車站等我。

The plane will arrive in Beijing at 13:00. 飛機將于13點到達北京。

八、on the other side of, across, over

They live on the other side of/over/across the street. 他們住在街的對面。
